After you've basked in the radiant Puerto Rican sun, indulged in a bit of Blackjack and Roulette, and explored the many untouched facets of this rich, invigorating paradise, it might be time to lend a day--or maybe 8--to Puerto Rico's vibrant cultural heritage. Fortunately, for you, the avid Puerto Rican tourist, December marks the largest artisan fair on this enchanting island.
Famed for its location on the world's largest rum plant, the annual Feria Bacardi fair elicits throngs of artisans and revelers, who congregate on Bacardi's voluminous premises for nearly 8 days of exhibits, entertainment, and revelry. From December 3rd-10th, upwards of 250 artisans arrive in Puerto Rico's beautiful Catano region to present and sell a unique collection of high-quality, handmade crafts.
Conceptualized 31 years ago, when the Bacardi Corporation first resolved to celebrate both the ingenuity and craftsmanship of Puerto Rico's local artisans, the famed Feria Bacardi trades fair has evolved into an emblem of Puerto Rican pride and craftsmanship.
The scintillating Feria Bacardi will be held in Catano, Puerto Rico, from December 3rd-10th, 2008, under three capacious tents on the Bacardi rum plant. The fair will feature performances for both children and adults, in addition to a Puerto Rican troubador show and delectable Puerto Rican cuisine.
